Sharon Davis is an award-winning journalist and has spent the last 16 years developing a successful writing career. She has worked as journalist, feature writer, freelance writer, sub-editor, magazine editor, publications manager and content manager for a wide variety of print and online publications, and websites... in addition to guest-editing peer-reviewed scientific journals and serving on editorial advisory boards.
She hadn't quite realised the ride she'd signed up for in 2009 when she moved from Durban, South Africa, to Christchurch, New Zealand, just nine months before the first earthquake; but she's thriving in South Island, freelancing for a number of South African and New Zealand magazines, with a focus on business, lifestyle and travel. Sharon also runs a blog writing service and is busy with an e-book series. (See www.sharondavis.co for more).
When she's not researching or typing up a storm, Sharon teaches t'ai chi classes and helps with volunteer conservation work on Quail Island - one of her favourite places in Christchurch.
